Universae is an official Higher Institute of Vocational Training and distance learning that offers more than 50 degrees in areas such as Health, Technology, Administration and Finance, among others.
The challenge
Their systems for managing training programs, content and communication between students/teachers were based on an e-learning platform. This did not allow them to scale their business or offer unique and differential solutions to their students.
The solution
Our solution consisted of migrating all their management systems to a customized platform. It was necessary to completely rewrite the Alumno portal to adapt it to the new management systems. This change offered the opportunity to also redesign the entire experience for the students.
The design
We worked with Universae's product team to ensure that the proposal met their functional needs. In addition, we implemented several key enhancements that would radically improve the user experience for students. We applied a new aesthetic that better aligns with their brand values and reflects their positioning as a higher education institute.
The development
Our solution was the creation of three independent platforms such as the administration portal, the student portal and the teacher portal.
We highlight several challenges we face in the process:
- We implemented a real-time chat between the student's portal and the teacher's portal.
- We generate PDF score reports from the administration portal.
- We integrate external services, such as e-learning platforms to manage assignments and exams, and connect with international financial systems.
- We create the infrastructure for the deployments, the different environments and the implementation in production.
- We collaborated with the client's frontend team, so they were able to create the student portal using the new services and designs.
All this following good methodological practices such as DDD and E2E testing. Facilitating the maintenance and evolution of the project by the client's own in-house developers.
