Factorial is a Spanish scale-up with international presence. It offers a suite of products for business management, which includes tools for time control, documentation, organization chart, vacations, expense policies, etc. They position themselves as your company's Operating System.
The challenge
Factorial is coming from an expansion phase and is now entering a consolidation phase, covering four main domains. The organization seeks to unify design patterns and improve cohesion between the different elements of its platform. There is a need for specialized talent to undertake a project of this scale in a way that does not disrupt the focus and delivery of the organization's other domains.
The solution
The main objective is to carry out a «Design Reset» that establishes unified patterns across the entire platform. To this end, a team focused on this project was formed to take it from its conception to its first implementation, also creating a prototype that will serve as a reference for the redesign of products in the different domains.
The design
At Secture we were part of this working group together with other Factorial employees and stakeholders who led the project.
Our work focused on conceptualizing and shaping all the patterns that existed in the platform, from a strategic point of view, helping to establish rules and justification of use, thus contributing to cohesion and implementation in both design and development.
One of the major milestones was to conceptualize Factorial's new navigation, offering a solution that was easier to use, but at the same time reflected the full value proposition of the product.
The development
The entire development was done by the Factorial team, which was able to publish much of the original definition, bringing new navigation and profile elements of various modules of the platform to the product.
