Dietamark - Secture

Dietamark is an e-commerce to sell vitamin supplements that improve the quality of life.

It also has an app for iPhone and Android that helps you keep track of the supplements you take. This allows you to track your wellness, along with simple questions you can answer each month about your physical and mental state.

The challenge

Their ecommerce could not scale to become the source of truth for the information in their catalog. This prevented them from creating new digital solutions, such as a mobile app.

The solution

Our solution was to create a new e-commerce in WordPress. This e-commerce not only facilitates online sales, but also acts as an API to provide information to the new mobile applications that we would develop for the client.

The design

We helped define requirements and functionalities to ensure that the value proposition of the applications aligned with the business. The goal was to provide additional useful and quality value.

We started with a limited brand identity and defined a visual style that reflected the needs of the business: cleanliness, vitality, clarity and precision.

The development

Since native technology was not required for the apps, we chose React Native. This allowed us to use a single source code for iPhone and Android, speeding up time and cost for the client.

For the ecommerce, we used WooCommerce with a REST API that served the catalog to the applications. We added a management layer to highlight products and recommend them as the product of the day. This allowed these contents to be displayed in the app.

In addition to serving the catalog to the apps, we created a WordPress plugin that added more functionality. For example, it allowed users to log supplement intake, frequency of intake and reminders.

This plugin also recorded app users' quality of life surveys, requested appointments with nutrition specialists, and managed push notifications and email deliveries.

We converted a WordPress ecommerce into a full backend, extending its functionality and isolating it in an independent module. This made it easy to update and maintain.
